A Year of Firsts for Focus IT Group

One year ago, Focus IT Group officially came to life — and what a year it’s been!

From merging two existing firms to welcoming new clients, our journey in 2025 was all about building something stronger and smarter. We focused on creating a human-centered environment that fosters collaboration and educational opportunities for our employees. At the same time, we aimed to provide the highest level of service to our clients.

With such an eventful first year, let's take a moment to celebrate our journey and say thank you for being part of it. Below are some highlights and images from our incredible year.

January — The Big Merge

On January 1st, two companies became one when Bensinger Technology and Focus NY merged. This was a massive undertaking! It involved intensive technology planning, staff alignment, and many conversations about naming conventions. Focus IT was born with a shared goal: to provide thoughtful, reliable IT and cybersecurity support without unnecessary drama.

March - We Moved

In March, we moved into a new office space designed for collaboration, faster problem-solving, and yes, better coffee! This new space quickly became our home base for supporting clients and building what’s next. Conveniently located just three blocks from Penn Station, we can easily support clients throughout the five boroughs.

April — A New Brand & Website Appeared

April brought exciting changes as we introduced our newly designed brand and launched an engaging website. Our new site reflects our services, clients, and purpose — clearer, simpler, and built to be useful. It includes industry-specific pages, blogs, FAQs, and more.

October — We Published Our First Case Study

In October, we shared our first client case study. This case study showcased how our in-depth IT review and roadmap approach works in the real world, complete with statistical results and minimal jargon. A big thank you to Scope Labs for their collaboration and for choosing Focus IT for their ongoing technology support.

November — Our First Conference

November marked our attendance at our first official conference with the New York City Bar Association. David Bensinger (CEO) participated in a technology panel. We discussed everything from cybersecurity and MFA to the Principle of Least Privilege and more. The Small Business Symposium and Cybersecurity Panel provided a fantastic opportunity to share ideas, learn from others, and connect with the community.

Reflecting on Year One

Looking back, year one was a whirlwind of team growth and client impact. Together, we expanded and built a solid foundation for the future of our business. We established robust IT systems and solutions, built strong relationships, and implemented secure technology that quietly does its job.
