A Year of Firsts for Focus IT Group

One year ago, Focus IT Group officially came to life — and what a year it’s been.

From combining two existing firms, to new clients, new content and new conversations, 2025 was all about building something stronger, smarter and more human-centered than ever. Our goal is to create an environment of collaboration, educational opportunities and a supportive organization for our employees while providing the highest level of service to our clients.

With such an eventful first year, we thought we’d take a moment to celebrate what it looked like — and say thank you for being part of it. Check out some of the highlights and images below.

January — The Big Merge

On January 1st, two companies became one when Bensinger Technology and Focus NY merged. This was a massive undertaking and involved intensive technology planning, staff and project alignment, as well as a good number of conversations about naming conventions. Focus IT was born — with a shared goal of providing thoughtful, reliable IT and cybersecurity support without unnecessary drama.

March - We Moved

We moved into a new office space designed for collaboration, faster problem-solving and better coffee. It quickly became our home base for supporting clients and building what’s next. Our offices are three blocks from Penn Station, making it easy to support clients throughout the five boroughs..

April — A New Brand & Website Appeared

We introduced our newly designed brand and launched a new and engaging website to reflect our services and work, our clients and our purpose — clearer, simpler and built to be useful, including industry specific pages, blogs, FAQs and more.

October — We Published Our First Case Study

We shared our first client case study, showing how our in-depth IT review and roadmap approach works in the real world — with statistical results and minimal jargon. A big thank you to Scope Labs for their help in putting this together and choosing Focus IT for their ongoing technology support.

November — Our First Conference

We attended our first official conference with the New York City Bar Association, and David Bensinger (CEO) participated in a technology panel to discuss everything from cybersecurity and MFA, to The Principle of Least Privilege and more. The Small Business Symposium and Cybersecurity Panel was a great opportunity to share ideas, learn from others and connect with the community.

Looking back, year one was a whirlwind of team growth and client impact. Together we expanded and built a solid foundation for the future of our business — through robust IT systems and solutions, established relationships and secure technology that quietly does what it’s supposed to do.

Thank you for trusting us with your businesses, your data and your day-to-day operations. We don’t take that lightly, and we’re excited for what year two brings.
